Mobile Device Management and Android Security

  • Mobile Device Management and Android Security

Many businesses run their operations on Android devices: handheld scanners, point-of-sale terminals, tracking units, field tablets and staff phones. Most of these devices are not managed. If one is lost, stolen or misused, the company’s data and systems are exposed. Iteb Co secures and manages these devices from one central console, powered by BeachheadSecure, so that every device follows the same security rules.

The Risk With Unmanaged Devices

  • Lost and stolen devices. Customer, stock and payment data can be accessed by whoever finds the device.
  • No central control. Security settings differ from device to device, and no one can see which devices are at risk.
  • Weak access. Simple or shared PINs are common on work devices.
  • Compliance exposure. A lost device holding personal information can become a reportable breach under POPIA or the Cyber and Data Protection Act.

Devices We Secure

  • Rugged and specialised Android devices used in logistics, warehousing and field work
  • Retail and point-of-sale devices
  • Tracking and fleet devices
  • Company and staff phones and tablets (Android and iOS)
  • Laptops and PCs (Windows and Mac), managed from the same console

What Is Included

Devices are managed through BeachheadSecure, a cloud platform for device and data security.

  • Central security policies. Password rules and security settings are applied to every device from one console.
  • App deployment. Work apps are installed and updated on devices remotely, without collecting each device.
  • Device restrictions. Selected device features and settings are restricted, to reduce misuse and risk.
  • Encryption. Data on devices is encrypted, and encryption is enforced.
  • Remote lock and wipe. A lost or stolen device is locked, or its data is wiped, remotely.
  • Location and geofencing. Devices are located, and an alert is raised when a device leaves an approved area.
  • Automatic threat response. Risks such as repeated failed logins, or a device going missing, are acted on automatically. Access to data can be removed, even while the device is offline.
  • Reporting. The security status of every device is reported, in support of audits and compliance.
