Many people believe that a reseller is needed to get Starlink in Zimbabwe. This is not the case. A Starlink Mini can be ordered directly from Starlink and paid off over six months, with no interest. Once the kit arrives, a local technician can be engaged to install it. This guide explains how the process works, what it costs, and which kit suits your needs.
Please note: Starlink is not yet licensed in South Africa. This guide applies to Zimbabwe only.

How the instalment option works
The instalment option is listed under Rent on the Starlink order page. The Mini kit is selected with the 6-Month Installment option, together with a service plan. The figures below are based on the Residential Lite plan and include VAT.

The kit costs US$200 in total, the same as a cash purchase. Delivery usually takes one to two weeks. Payment can be made with a Visa or Mastercard, including virtual cards. Prices are set by Starlink and may change, so the final amounts should be confirmed at checkout.

Starlink Mini or Standard?
The Starlink Mini is suited to:
- Individuals, couples and small households
- People who travel or work from different sites
- Use in vehicles, at campsites and at remote job sites
The Mini has a built-in Wi-Fi router. It can be powered from a vehicle socket or a suitable power bank.
The Starlink Standard (US$389, paid upfront) is suited to:
- Larger households with many connected devices
- Small offices, lodges and guesthouses
- Sites where higher, more consistent speeds are required
Using Starlink in your vehicle
The Mini is the preferred option for vehicles because of its size and low power draw. It should be noted that residential plans are tied to the registered service address. For regular use away from home, a Roam plan should be considered. The kit should be secured with an approved mount and should never be placed where it obstructs the driver’s view.
Availability in your area
Capacity varies by area. In some high-demand areas, residential plans may be temporarily unavailable. Availability is shown once your address is entered on the order page.
